The mission of Communities In Schools is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. We are part of the national Communities In Schools network, which is the leading dropout prevention organization in the country, and the only such organization that is proven to decrease the dropout rate and increase on-time graduation rates.
The North Carolina Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service strives to enhance the quality of life for North Carolinians through volunteer and community service and to ensure their long term prosperity by promoting the capabilities of people, communities and enterprises utilizing community service and volunteerism as an integral part of the growth of North Carolina.
MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership is the unifying champion for expanding quality youth mentoring relationships in the United States. MENTOR’s mission is to fuel the quality and quantity of mentoring relationships for America’s young people and to close the mentoring gap. MENTOR carries out this work in collaboration with our Mentoring Partnership Network and more than 5,000 mentoring programs in all 50 states. We engage with the private, public and nonprofit sectors to ensure that our youngest citizens have the support they need through mentoring relationships to succeed at home, school and, ultimately, work.
